Weird, subversive point n' clicker about a wonky clown that just wants to hug the world. The puzzles were either super straightforward or required some insane logic, so it was a bit patchy, but the story it tells was good enough.

Secret of Mana - Snes9x. Started this in the summer of 1995. 22 years later I finally managed to finish it! God bless android emulation and an 8bitdo pad. Game is Dark Souls hard at times.

Last Guardian (PS4)

It is very janky, particularly the camera and controls, almost to the point of spoiling the game. Aside from that, the actual game is brilliant. The relationship with the beast and the story that isn't really revealed until the end were great. Some of tbe scenery was truly stunning.

Looking forward to finally getting to play SotC when the remake arrives bext year.

Wow, I don't know what I was expecting (I ashamedly have never even played Limbo, their earlier game) but this was spot on in every aspect - art style was striking, puzzles were fun to solve, story was dark and grim and full of surprises in so many ways.

Deadpool (PS4)

Short but sweet. Fun if basic combo based gameplay with Nolan North putting in a good performance.

Party Hard - POC

Nowhere near as engaging as all the YouTube playthroughs make you believe but still an enjoyable diversion for a few quid.

The Order 1886 (PS4)

Actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought. Essentially Gears of War in Victorian London. Lots of story sequences and cutscenes with what felt like quite short gameplay sequences in between.

I would buy the sequel that is hinted at, but don't think it will get one based on not getting great reviews iirc.

Ghost Recon Wildlands - PS4. Really enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. The open world is ridiculously huge, but there's quite a lot of variation between areas. It actually gave me Borderlands vibes at times, just questing away. Ended up doing every mission bar one which bugged out! Pretty narked cos it meant I couldn't get teh trophy.

Mad Max - Xbox One

As I suspected, a lot of the same side missions, attack base's, blow shit up. The still did the grind for some reason. Fucking achievement points!

Anyway, the hand to hand combat is proper satisfying, you can almost feel each punch land. Uses the Batman counter system but it's not as easy to pull off.

The main story is OK, Max is Mad, some strange NPC's and tbh and WTF, really! moment.

It would have been loads better without so many sides. But you had to do them to be able to upgrade.

Breath of the Wild done and dusted for now. All Shrines and Memories done, then beat Ganon. Link was wearing the Twilight Princess armour set for full effect.

Black The Fall (PC) - 2017 - 3/5

Saw this recommended in a few places as an "if you liked Inside, you'll like this" sorta thing, and I did, so I got it!

It's not quite as polished, nor as engrossing or atmospheric as Inside, and some of the puzzles required breaking rules the game had already established, which was frustrating.

I really enjoyed this. To the extent I'm probably going to go back and 100% it

Looked at doing that, too much of a grind to complete the "non-repeatable challenges" achievement, or going round picking up all scrap! fuck that. I did 100% all strongholds though.

Mafia 3 - Stones Unturned - PC. I got the season pass for this for a tenner on CD Keys and have been really enjoying the extra chapters to Lincoln's story. This takes things to the jungle, and feels very Uncharted.

The Witcher 3 - Blood and Wine - PC. NG+ all done and dusted with my final character level a fitting 100. Think this game tops Borderlands now as the most time intensive single player game I have played. GOAT.

Batman: Arkham Knight [PS4]

Destiny/Taken King/Rise of Iron [PS4] - single player/story missions

Tales from the borderlands - episodes 1,2,3

Not sure if I should count these on here as they are more interactive story than game, but regardless they are very fun. Gonna enjoy finishing them off as well. Great writing!

Resident evil 7 (PS4) - really enjoyed this. Scared the shit out of me! Thought the family were great. Thought the moulded were shit. Main game play was basically first person resi 1. Shame the character animation was a bit janky.

What Remains of Edith Finch (PS4) Its a walking sim, but is very evocative and extremely imaginative.

I absolutely loved that. Played through it twice. Have you heard of The Fidelio Incident? It's been out a while, but only popped up on my radar yesterday. Quite keen to give that a go too. I love a good walking sim when I'm in the right mood.

Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age - PS4. Has its detractors, or as I like to call them, mentals, but this is just pure gaming Nirvana for me. Love it even more with every playthrough, and this is the definitive version. 11 years on, it still pisses on 90% of the competition.

Halo CE (Xbone)

Working through Master Chief collection. This shows its age, despite being spruced up. Still enjoyable but felt slow in places and awkward due to health and ammo occasionally being hard to find. The Library level is still crap. Halo 2 next. If anyone wants to run through on co op let me know.

I'd be up for that. I am a couple of levels into the single player, but would much prefer the game in co-op.

It is only 2 player co op unfortunately. You two can fight to the death over who gets to play it with me. Halo 3 and 4 are up to 4 players so they could be options.

I think I ruined it for myself a little by playing the characters too vanilla. Were I to go through it again I'd probably try and keep Rhys as a complete prick until the last. I made him unrecognizeable to how he started, which is a shame. That said, very entertaining (and an easy platinum!)
