I kind of know what they do now, hide you from the internets pretty much, but does anyone use them as I would like to watch TV shows from "iplayer" type feeds but they always come back with "not available in your region"

 

I have seen loads of sites that do this for you but who to trust?

Think duffman uses them for steam. I only know about the ones at work so I can make dropbox and the like work through the firewall.

I've used a program called spotflux which is basically a VPN tunnel through their cloud network which breaks out in the states so it gives you an american IP address.

If you are feeling brave, you could always use TOR, but speed will be random depending on the exit node.
