    Games to long distance by!

I really like GBA for IOS. You can download ROMs from within the app and it doesn't require jailbreaking. I'm currently working my way through Final Fantasy 6 Advance but there;s loads of RPGs on the GBA which will work ok with the touch screen. The best thing is as it's illegal it's all FREEEEE.

Sniper Elite V2 - POC - Single Player

I just finished V3 last night. Good gameplay but by the gods, so many bugs. I had to play a whole level without any crosshairs. The metal gear comparisons are spot on as it shamelessly steals many ideas from that franchise. Overall decent game a little let down by a few nasty bugs.

    Elder Scrolls Online

So I’ve picked up Elder Scrolls Online after seeing a bit of promise in the beta. I managed to get it for £25 from Cd-Keys.com which helped soften the blow there’s no way I would have paid the full £50 asking price. Not with a £15 sub every month as well. It’s not that the beta was bad, it just didn't feel right. The combat didn't have any weight or any feeling at all for that matter. Left click swing sword, enemy health drops. You could even walk straight through them as if they didn't even exist. Thankfully the developer seems to have listened to criticism and had a go at fixing the combat. Enemies now react to being twated in the face and NPCs are no longer ghosts, well except the ghost ones. This has brought the combat almost in line with Oblivion which isn't great but good enough I suppose. In the beta I played as a Stealth/Archer (which I loved in Skyrim) which just didn't work within the confines of an MMO you didn’t get a descent damage bonus for a hidden strike and you lost your hidden status after you fired your first shot. Also the range of the arrows was piss poor as arrows would literary disappear once they had traveled a certain distance. This was beta but as far as I’m aware this hasn't been changed for the release. So this time I decided to just roll with the classic sword, shield, heavy armored, tanky mother hubbard. This has completely turned the game around for me I am now enjoying it immensely. Rather than playing the game for the levels (which is how I seem to play every MMO a mad rush from quest to quest not reading anything because MMOs take up enough time as it is without pesky story to concentrate on) I’m playing like I would play an elder scrolls game taking my time exploring every area and actually finding stuff to use/sell. There are still the usual MMO restrictions with areas being level constrained but the areas are big enough for that not to be an issue. The crafting system seems kind of in line with Skyrim except you can’t buy materials for shops you have to go out and find them yourself. Being a tanky dude I’m blacksmithing and enchanting which so far has worked out quite well. I am able to manufacture equipment for myself which is stopping me from becoming under geared for my level. I had a quick go at the PvP last night which I’m not normally into, however it was great fun. Just running around Cyrodiil with 40 other people taking resources, camps until we ran in another army then a massive battle kicked off and naturally I got killed but not before taking some of those high elf scum with me. I’m not sure of the legs of it all but for the hour I played I really enjoyed myself. There’s also PvE quests to do within the PvP area which is interesting but you really need a group of people to do that sort of stuff I imagine. Anyways I urge you all to try it at some point even those who didn't like the beta (Papa) as it’s a bit different for an MMO.

Post when you complete a game 2012

Castle of Illusion: MegaDrive. Mass Effect 3 (360) - I loved it. The ending is daft but I won't let it sour the rest of the game. Half Life 2: Ep 2 What a fucking game! Metal Gear Solid 2 HD (360) Much better than I remember it being. Half Life 2: PC Half Life 2: Episode 1: PC I decided to try some half life 2 mods. I ended up using Cinematic Mod 11. Which basicly updates textures and models. I didn't plan on playing the game to the finish or even carrying on through Ep1. However I'm now right at the end of Ep2. Man those games are still fucking awesome. Sonic 2: MegaDrivei forgot how rough we had it with PAL games back in the day. All the slowed down gameplay/music and the borders. Still I do love me a bit of Sonic 2. Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (360): Once I finally got to grips with the controls I really enjoyed this game. Batman: Arkham City (PC). not as good as the first and I wasn't to impressed with the ending. Deadly Premonition (360) Finally got back in the mood to play this game again and finished it. A truly maddening experience
