not really ever looked at the site but do (or did) love the podcast - the guys doing it are great (although i saw a picture of them and it shocked me - only patrick looks like i expected), vinnie is my favourite.

 

i do have some issues and wonder if any of you feel the same.

 

is it just me or are they getting very ipad/phone and pc centric? its kind of anoying, even when they are talking about console stuff it inevitable ends up with "play it on pc!" which is always a no brainer if you have access to a good gaming pc.

 

anyway, just a few thoughts and im still listening to it (although shifting towards major nelsons podcast for obvious reasons - even if its a little too squeaky clean).

Fuck Major Nelsons podcast, it's sooooooooooo biased(for obvious reasons)

 

Still love Bombcast, yes I have noticed it, but that will all change when the new consoles come out and they'll be like play it on the 720 not 360, so it'll be no different if you don't have one of those They're still funny, informative and aboce all entertaining.

 

Weekend Confirmed, IGN UK, Beyond and Gamescoop are other mainstays.Stopped listening to Gamespot UK as they really have no idea.

I'll try out the others you mentioned, Ginj, but the BombCast just seems to ramble on forever and ever. They seem to talk more about their lives and what they had for dinner than anything game-related (unless they count?).

 

I'm a fan of the HAWPcast and EpicBattleCry meself.

i have weekend confirmed & gamers with jobs. still listening to GB. I love the "nothing but 360 ness2 of major nelson but it does make me envious - i bet working for M$ in seattle is pretty sweet.

Yes I am getting bored of it getting iPad and PC centric - I think this is a symptom of the fact that we should be a year in to new consoles by now!!!

I went off Bombcast years ago. Overrated rambling shit with low production values. For so called professionals they get an awful lot of things incorrect too. The nail in the coffin for me was watching a SotC quickplay once. These people are supposedly leaders of the field? Like fuck...

i disagree with you  there, the rambling while sometimes is annoying as fuck does add to it. and they do have good production values. it is interesting though to compare & contrast their opinions with other podcasts - especially where its about games you dont play yourself (good example is the appraisal on the new sim city beta from giant bomb & gamers with jobs).

 

never bother with anything else on any site except podcasts (just dont like watching videos on a pc).

 

i suppose ginj is right about it going off consoles as we are at the tail end of a generation and they will probably explode with stuff about the new ones once they arrive or are announced (they will still say play it on a pc though).

 

and the bias is the best thing about major nelson - its M$ own podcast so of course they will spunk over 360 stuff. which i like.

I just discovered Giant Bomb in the last few weeks, via their Quick Look video of Euro Truck Simulator (2013 edition, natch). Never laughed so much at a truck driving game

they are fucking with the podcast feeds (and site too apparently) dont forget to resubscribe your rss's.

it probably works like a greased sausage down oxford street for the itards but the feed is weird for my player.

not only had to resubscribe manually (still the 2 broken ones on search) but the episodes only show when you look at the channel direct or download them.

Just gave Rebel FM and Joystiq a listen. I liked Rebel FM, Joystiq not so much.
