My current laptop has given up the ghost.
My initial thought was to buy a cheap and cheerful 200 quid laptop to replace it for university and general office type use.

Then I thought, if I'm gonna shell out a couple of hundred maybe I could stretch to a bit more and get something that can run a game or two.

With all the work we're having done to the house I can't really justify spending more than 500 quid. So my question is, is it worth spending £500 odd on a "gaming" pc or am I better off picking up a cheap laptop for now and waiting for a year or so and spending a bit more on a better rig?

Do you already have a decent monitor?

Yeah, that's a decent PC for £500. In fact I had to go on the main site to see if the price on the mobile site was ex VAT it looked so cheap.

Taking GTAV as an example, a PS4 runs high settings at a locked 30fps. That PC claims to run it fully on high at 96fps.

I highly recommend you keep an eye on the Humble Bundle site for excellent Steam charity bundle deals.

No

Might be buying Black Desert Online, going to wait for it to all settle and watch a few "Lets Play" shiteos on YouTube first.

But seriously, no more MMO's for me.

I most definitely could not dedicate myself to a time-sink like an MMO.....

LOL

I'm saving myself for the Firefly MMO...

I've finally got my new rig set up. So far I have started a review of a research paper into Paediatric cardiac arrest and downloaded Microsoft office.

Am I doing this right?
