I think I do need to spend some more time with it before I decide to invest, but I am swaying towards buy it.After all it is subscription free, but now so is Star Wars..... I like that you can join in on other peoples story quests, and vice versa. Not only do you get extra XP but you get to see parts that you wouldn't necessarily have done without a whole new play through. The whole world looks lovely, amazingly detailed and there are lots of Vistas to be found, (think Assassins Creed viewpoints and you get the idea.) These seem to be the most frustrating part of the game with their dogy platform mechanics. I'm sure Mike will boast about doing it first time on one of these in Ahsford Plains!
I'm playing as a Char dog cat type thing ranger. Mike is a guardian with a massive hammer(possibly a euphimism) , Jimbo just ran in swinging his weapon about(fnar). Between us we managed to twat loads of different types of monsters. It all gets so involved with daily achievements for killing x amount of this monster, y amounts of different types of monster. I can see where OCD would be a problem. Don't let Martha near this game!!
There are also loads of daily events, you'll just be exploring an area and NEW EVENT NEARBY pops up on your screen, so you go check it out. You do that one, and it can lead into another and another, etc....... This is not a game to be playing when you're about to go to bed.
What I'm describing is probably the same as many other MMO type games out there but hey ho. I'm a PC n00B all over again having not really touched PC gaming in a big way for nearly a decade.
If anyone else is on the trial for the weekend we're on the desolation server, I'll definitely be about tomorrow day time for a few hours, and possibly Sunday evening too. After all I need to take advantage of the free trial as much as possible, someone just needs to tell my long suffering wife that I possibly have a new gaming addiction and she can blame Jimbo

I just went to upgrade to the full game and the only options it's giving me are pay by CC or Paypal, no option to insert a serial key. Hopefully this wil change after the trial is up!

I've googled it and all I've found are people complaining after applying the free code to their already active full accounts and finding them not working.

It is a bit of a mess though to be honest.

It's ridiculous. Jimbo and I hit our daily quota kill, then the clock struck midnight and it reset. MUST KILL THEM ALL AGAIN!
I've just put another 4 hours into this tonight and I haven't finished yet. 4 hours, 1 story mission. The rest was spent rounding up minotaurs, or collecting scrap metal. Or having Cinnamon rolls cooked for me. Don't ask. I fucking love this game and I'm so glad I got a PC that can play it.
