2017 Game Completion Thread.

Happy New Year!

To get the ball rolling:

Gears of War 4 (Xbox One)

Done in co-op on hardcore. Bit of a slow start, gets very good by the end but finishes rather abruptly. Either they ran out of time, saved some for dlc or something else.

Dying Light-poc-I had a great deal of fun with this, played 99.9% in co-op but the ending is an enforced single player section that is all trial and error and not in keeping with the rest of the game. The parkour is excellent and the combat satisfying. Well worth a play, but I'm safe in saying I will not play this game ever again. A bitter/sweet ending.(reposted because it's 2017...)

Bioshock Infinite - Xbox One via BC

Nothing like starting 2017 off with a 2013 game

Her Story - PC. Quiet afternoon so managed to finish this in one sitting pretty much. Fantastic. Really clever the way it all unfolds and a great performance by her.

Final Fantasy XV - PS4.

WatchDogs-PS4- Yep, really enjoyed that. Not without its flaws but well worth the amount of time I put into it. Got all the single player trophies except the drinking one and starting to work my way towards the online ones. A lot of fun.

Batman:Telltale Episode 1-This has the usual Telltale Jank, but a little bit less than usual. Good story so far, mixing up the Batman legend. Can't wait to see what happens :)

Oxenfree (PS4) - 2016 - 4/5

A great little adventure game with excellent writing and a fun mystery to uncover. Looking forward to what these developers do next.

Final Fantasy XV (PS4) - 2016 - 4/5

Uneven, and the story is a pile of shite, but had a lot of fun in the moment to moment running around and killing shit with these lads.

Batman-Telltale-Episode 2-5- Really enjoyed this. It did fell like more story than gameplay than other Telltale games but it's a good story and it sets it up for a sequel which I'll get when it's on sale. Also another Platinum, although this was a hell of a lot easier than the Watchdogs one.

Took me a while but eventually "finished" Stardew Valley on the PC, by "finish" I mean get to the end of the second year and not be smited by the ghost of my grandfather for doing a shit job. The Mrs still won't shag me, so no children yet, might be due to the skull mask I insist on wearing in bed. I did erect some giant cock(erel) and (rampant) rabbit statues around the bed to set the mood but she isn't having any of it... or my kawk...

Forza Horizon 3 - Blizzard Mountain - PC. What an impressive piece of DLC. The snowy conditions completely change the feel of the game, and tearing around in a blizzard is just amazing fun. Best racer ever.

The Last Guardian - PS4.

Her Story - PC.

Final Fantasy XV - PS4.

Destiny, The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King.

This game has proper got its hooks in me! Loving the grind! TTK is the only proper content to be fair that would have been worth dying as here's a proper story and a lot to do. Going to clear up some side missions before getting stuck into Rise of Iron. Still haven't done a raid though and I've solo'd it all (except the strikes that matchmake).

Metal Gear Rising:Revengeance-PS3-Bat Shit, short and a lot of fun. If you like action games then there's absolutely no reason you won't like this. Even the story had me grinning like a loon, and the final boss is brilliantly OTT. So glad I played it. Maybe I'll play another Metal Gear game at some point.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 (PS4)

Done on co-op on easy. Did a couple of missions on hard, but eventually turned it down to easy to finish it as quickly as possible. One of the worst games I've ever played, and definitely the worst AAA title.

Uncharted (PS4) - Looks great, plays the same. Still think I prefer this over the others but I'll have to wait and see. Oh and as annoying as obvious sign posting is there's a fair few points in there where it's pretty hidden where you're meant to actually go!!

That's a great effort. Gave up on that a while ago. Did enjoy the when it lasted though, the only game I've done MP on for ages.

The single player stuff was ok on the Master difficulty, but the Survivals in co-op went from piss easy(Hoth) to anger inducing (Sullust). We got through to the last few waves about 7 times before we did it. Each run lasting 35-45 minutes. I'm glad I've done it, but now it's back to the multiplayer and play for fun.(And mop up the 5 dlc trophies I need ;) )
